Acquired in the Balkans after the fall of the Soviet Empire in Eastern Europe, senior military officers began selling off the awards given to them from other Warsaw Pact joint operations. (The presentation plate has been removed.)
This plaque on wooden base, with light metal, probably aluminum, about 15″. A varnished, shiny laminate deck.
It is unique in that it uses the floral motif better known on the standards mounted on the staffs of the Third Reich, having a very German flavor.
