A Friend of mine, now passed since 2008, had this in his shop in Sofia.

He was sort of the go-to guy to sell off items for the retired Bulgarian military after the Communists were thrown out of power in 1992.

They would remove any seal, but they were all senior officers of the Bulgarian military, in this case, Air Force, and these were common in joint Warsaw Pact exercises. Could have occurred anywhere in the Eastern Bloc, but the seal is definitely Polish.

My wife calls this Lucite, but I think they called it Lexan, which was developed for the space programs in the late 60s. It was quickly used in American commercial products, but since the Commies didn’t have (allow) commercial markets, this was about all they knew to do with science’s male gifts for their generals.

It stands 16 1/2″ on a 10 x 6 1/2″ base, the clear piece anchored by two screws which come loose over time, so swivels until re-anchored.  The silver Polish Eagle has peeled a little, can use a new coat, should you choose. The black base has scratches which indicate a presentation plate may have been glued there.

PRICE: $125.00, which includes Priority Shipping.
