And while you’re at it, get John Lewis and Elijah Cummings to throw their weight around. And would some of ya’ll shut Maxine up, and remind her just how many people went to jail and took a beating on the ride down town, or was bit by dogs, just because they wanted to be able to sit in a restaurant and order food just like regular folks?
I think they even wrote part of the Civil Rights Act of ’64 directed at that very thing.
Of course, Dr King was still alive then. Democrats wrote a lot of things they didn’t mean when Martin Luther King was still alive.
I can remember those days. I can remember when the “We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone” signs along Highway 11 in Virginia came down and the “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service” signs went up, just to clarify what was legal when refusing service.
Same party, same white people doing it again, Jesse. Al.
Go fix it.
Jesse. Al. Are you even listening to me?
Good afternoon Vassar,
You know, I was thinking the same thing but then, Jesse Jackson was following Martin Luther King, Jr.’s lead and Al Sharpton was at the time, likely being weaned off his mother’s milk and on his way to becoming the boy preacher about three miles from where I lived.
By the time, Sharpton was 16, the whole neighborhood knew he was fast on his way to becoming the charlatan he is today. As Jackson, John Lewis, they wasted no time betraying King’s legacy which began to unfold withing months of Dr. King’s assassination. Elijah Cummings and the rest of his merry band of thugs in the CBC are no better.
Enter 2018 and shockingly enough, they are in bed with that very same beast that banned Blacks from sitting at counters, drinking from water fountains, playing in certain parks, swimming in specific spools, were forced to rear of the bus and upper balconies in the rear of movie theaters.
Having bedded down with those who wanted MLK, Jr. dead, there is very little difference today except that those now finding banned from restaurants, water fountains, movie theaters, the front of the bus etc. are Conservatives and Republicans.
We’ll see Puma, and thanks, by the way. We can actually resurrect the Civil Rights Movement via the courts, for I believe the courts never considered just how far the Public Accommodations parts of the Civil Rights Act extended, I can see Memphis and Biloxi all being repeated, by poor white trash wearing MAGA hats in restaurants, WE have our own ACLU so no need for them. The wedge Trump is driving between the working class blacks and the educated government class could be widened. Hope I live long enough…. 🙂
