If you didn’t know, Michelle and Barack Obama sent their older daughter, Melia, along with 25 classmates from her school, plus an entourage of Secret Service agents, to a spring break vacation in Mexico.

Who paid, or for what, wasn’t disclosed, but I’m already calling for an audit. I want to see the check to Expedia.

But if you also didn’t know, the US State Department has had a travel advisory in place for Americans traveling to Mexico since Feb 8. Beware, if you’re smart, stay away.

Finally, if you didn’t also know, all the normal news sites that ran stories yesterday afternoon highlighting the obvious double standard here have removed those stories, almost simultaneously.

On its face, no big deal. Presidential parties travel under a completely different security umbrella than even the wealthiest businessman can, and hell, socialist regimes, just like lawyers and sharks, always pay professional courtesy to their counterparts. So theoretically, there’s no place the Obama’s can’t go, since the only refuge for those who would be free of socialism is currently being undone. The Obamas could vacation in Caracas or Alexandria or Havana just as easily. They probably chose Mexico because that’s probably the only place they could find hotels with running water. One mile inland, there isn’t any.

Can you spell “privilege”?

I’m still looking for the website that is tracking the Obama’s spending spree these first three years in the White House. How many rounds of golf? How many aircraft take-offs? How many aircraft? (They obviously get double miles with Capital One.) How many countries, continents, boutiques visited, outfits bought? How many magnums of $300 wine, and how many Alice in Wonderland sets and costumes borrowed from Disney? (Kinda fitting, if you stop to think about it?)

Can you spell “imperial”

Which brings us to the many images of royalty attributed to the Obamas since the first vacation(s) in 2009. Personally, I don’t think you should pose Barack  in a regal attire unless Michelle fills out a gown and jewels alongside.

On imperial privilege they’re a pair. On entitlement and lavish spending with someone else’s money, they are a team, joined at the hip.

But a mere king, baron, or local satrap just don’t do the grand scale of the Obama’s larceny any justice. The Clinton’s maybe, but not the Obamas.

I’d considered Hera and Zeus, true gods, but they didn’t really wear their station as Michelle likes to wear hers. Michelle would rather be all blinged up instead of  an all-powerful goddess, if she has to walk around all days in a plain white toga, peering into pools of water to see what the mortals “down there” are doing.

But the “down there” part, they both get.

So, I settled on the god-kings of Egypt.

I was stunned to find all over the Soviet Bloc in the 1990s how many people used the term “imperial” to define the ruling communists. Imperial communists, they said. Not easy to see with the naked eye, and invisible through the prism of the state-owned media, still the staid, boring commies of Russias lived lavish (for their tastes) lifestyles.

They hid, but somehow, the people still knew this.

What to do about this condition?

I confess, since the GOP campaign began, I’ve been a disappointed about how little the day-to-day actions of the president has played in their campaigns. Obama’s has lied and been unconstitutional at least ten times more than Santorum has been funny, or Romney sincere, or Newt humble, still, no one mentions Obama’s crimes. There should be a daily briefing on this alone. It’s not like he passed Obamacare then has been laying low for two years. Even Newt misses the mark with his $2.50 a gallon push. Its not just the price but the reasons why the price has been pushed up, i.e., Keystone, alternative energy, getting rid of fuel resources today for fuel replacements that (may) come online in 5-30 years, that should be highlighted.

It’s the total sense of the man…

…as best portrayed, perhaps in this imperial posing he and his wife carry on in times of dire need.

This is either incompetent of criminal, or possibly both.

There’s a great opportunity here for one of the candidates to raise the national temperature a little by taking a major hard position about the character of the President, as one who imperial and indifferent, with a list of evidence as long as your leg.

And the time to do it is now…from the late March to early April primaries.

It could change everything.

Obviously Newt has the least to lose and most to gain with such a gambit. Moreover, he is the best rabble rouser. He has more twittable moments when he’s on his game. On top of this, especially since the very idea of an imperious Obama goes contrary to the entire Romney camp’s theory of the man (which is 100% wrong, I think) he will either run away from the issue, especially if coming from Newt, and might even defend Obama in the half-assed way he regularly defends his own patrician class.

Santorum could gain more than Newt, but won’t try it (not very presidential, he’ll be told) but might chime in behind Newt if Newt goes first. Besides, Santorum would likely make the “imperial” charge sound like a parking ticket. He just isn’t as good as Newt at venting spleen, rousing crowds to a fever pitch, and most importantly, making a headline.

And that’s the strategy here; getting a news issue (not opinion, for when a candidate says it, it’s news) before the media they can’t pooh-pooh, play down, or ignore. It’s the sort of thing that will cause the White House press corps to ask questions about it which will cause Jay Carney to have to deflect about it. Then, as a news-not-opinion issue, the right can make hay, because nothing helps our cause more than Jay Carney having to come before the cameras and lie through his teeth about facts that cannot be denied, and that is the lavish, wastrel habits of the President and his spouse..

In the end, I’m not sure which of the three candidate wins, but we, and the truth, win big.

When Obama is run out of office this fall, I want him to lose with a complete bill of particulars in his fist. When he goes, I want him and the world to know why we kicked him out. His imperious disdain for the American is but one of several crimes at least one of the GOP candidates will never level.

It’s important.
